AN ISSUE OF MAJOR CONCERN TO ALL WHO LIVE IN THE TRI-STATE AREA:
The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is proposing restrictions on river use in the entire Topock March, from Interstate 40 to the south end of the refuge (Near Lake Havasu). The restrictions would effectively close the Colorado River to recreational boating as it exists today.
The proposed restrictions would be devastating to the economy of the Colorado River area. Topock 66 and Pirate’s Cove (including Park Moabi Campground) would be out of business. Campgrounds in Needles and Lake Havasu would be seriously affected. Even properties up river would be severely impacted by loss of visitors to the area. All types of business would be affected by the loss of revenue from the boaters. Property values in the river area would be seriously impacted. Our entire lifestyle would be changed. No more afternoon floating thru the gorge or going for a boat ride to Lake Havasu. .
There is a public meeting being held at the Avi Resort and Casino on Tuesday May 3, 2016 from 1-3 pm and again from 6-8pm. Please attend and encourage all that can to attend.
